A prologue set 17 years before the rest of the events of Rebirth shows

Koepp is no stranger to writing spine-tingling, hair-raising tension. Two of his novels, Aurora and Cold Storage, are two page-turning examples. Look no further than Bad Influence, Carlito’s Way, Mission: Impossible, Premium Rush, War of the Worlds, and his most recent trio of Steven Soderbergh films. Don’t forget the cult classic horror film he directed, either – Stir of Echoes.

Here’s what we know about what happened after the film’s ending and its implications for the franchise moving forward. In addition, we’ll be keeping the article spoiler-free for readers who haven’t gotten to viewing the franchise’s latest installment.

As I reread them, what I remembered was his tone is different from ours — a little darker. Steven’s a little lighter. That’s just who they are as human beings, and we were trying for a little bit more humor.

So, it was actually much easier to get back in the mindset of that time because we did want to come closer to the tone of the original movie, just because that’s what we were comfortable with, and that’s what we’d done.

The dinosaurs are fighting for their existence, while the humans are on a hunt for dinosaur DNA samples that could product a lifesaving drug. All that, plus the film’s ability to launch a slew of dinosaur attacks from virtually anywhere in the environment, suggested a very simple but potent title.
