Jack Catterall vs Harlem Eubank Boxing Time, Date And How much is at stake for this fight

The bill also sees the return of two-time world champion Joe Cordina, from Cardiff in Wales, the return of Australia’s Skye Nicholson following her first defeat, the debut of Matchroom’s promising heavyweight Leo Atang, another bout for the 8-0 William Crolla – brother of former world lightweight champion Anthony – and former Team GB Olympian Pat Brown, who will hope to move to 3-0.

Catterall (30-2, 13 KOs) is coming off a costly split-decision loss to Arnold Barboza Jr. for the WBO interim super lightweight world title in February and cannot afford another disappointing setback.

His brand deals with Everlast and Gymshark, as well as a net worth estimated at $2.5 million, cement him as a prominent figure in British boxing. Eubank, with an unbeaten record of 21-0 (9 KOs), is on the rise, but his purse reflects his status as an emerging fighter. His wealth, close to $1.2 million, is fueled by sponsorships with Adidas and promotional events linked to his surname.

Cordina (17-1) beat Kenichi Ogawa for the IBF super featherweight title in 2022 but was stripped of the belt due to injury not long after. The Cardiff-born fighter regained it the following year but lost the title against Anthony Cacace last May.

Catterall is coming into this fight on the back of his second defeat and the first one that really can’t be questioned. El Gato was on the wrong end of an upset in February as he lost a split decision to Arnold Barboza Jr, and in truth it was a surprise the result wasn’t unanimous.

This 12-round welterweight contest will take place on Saturday, July 5. It is being held at the AO Arena in Manchester, with the main event ringwalks scheduled for 10pm.

It was American Barboza Jr who ended up claiming the interim WBO title in a final eliminator at 140 pounds, earning a shot at full champion Teofimo Lopez, losing on points in New York in May.

Will Catterall bounce back and put himself right back into the title hunt? Or will Eubank put the spotlight on his own brand of sweet science skills with his biggest win to date?
