The Sierra Canyon Aggies, based in Draper, California, are coming off a highly successful 2023 season where they captured the California State Championship, finishing with a 13-1 record. Their only loss came early in the season against national powerhouse Bishop Gorman. Known for their explosive offense, the Red Devils averaged 47.6 points per game last year and have consistently been a top contender in California high school football.

As the 2024 season kicks off, Sierra Canyon is once again ranked as the preseason No. 1 team in the state. They are set to face the No. 5 JSerra Catholic Indians in a highly anticipated matchup on August 23, 2024. The JSerra Catholic Spartans had an impressive 2023 high school football season, finishing with an 11-2 record and clinching the Region 3 championship. Their season included dominant playoff performances, such as a 42-14 victory over Bingham, which secured their place in the state semifinals.

However, their season ended in disappointment as they fell to Skyridge in the state semifinal, losing 34-12. The Indians struggled without their two-way star, Davis Andrews, who was out with a broken collarbone. Despite a strong effort, they couldn't overcome Skyridge's offensive prowess.

Overall, it was a remarkable season for JSerra Catholic, showcasing their resilience and talent, even though they came up just short of a state championship appearance
